Now.. we get it. Biscuits are everyones favourite go-to treat (Specifically when they're from Bizzarri Dolci), so you may have been stuck in a crumb-y situation at least once in the form of "Ooo! Let's share a biscuit!" Never fear! Bizzarri Dolci has 4 perfect tips & tricks to help you 'share' your biscuits.

Step 1. Choose a packet of biscuits that are designed for sharing. With multiple bite size pieces, you can 'share' without missing out. We recommend: Orange & Almond Biscotti

Step 2. Try your luck with a Savoury biscuit. Not everyone has a sweet tooth so including a savoury biscuit to share allows you to devour all the sweet ones alone!! (Whilst also eating the savoury ones too!)We recommend: Peppery Cheddars

Behind the name that is Bizzarri Dolci sits a very special lady. For 14 years Monette has baked biscuits, talked about biscuits, created new biscuits and well in our opinion - she really is the "Biscuit Queen" of Melbourne.

Through the glass windows of our kitchen you'll notice her running around testing and creating new flavours and products. The new creations are passed around for taste testing (Our favourite part!!) and Ta-Da! A new idea is born.

Few of you may know that yes - by day Monette lives and breathes biscuits, however by night she is a Marathon running champion. Monette is currently on her way to completing a marathon on every continent and she is definitely on track! Take a look at her progress so far:

Bizzarri Dolci gets very sad whenever we break biscuits... but not as sad as when we break meringues!! Eton Mess is the best way to save those broken meringues from being thrown in the bin! Essentially a meringue, cream and strawberry trifle - this Eton Mess is perfect for entertaining! Use Bizzarri Dolci's Choc Meringas for a different twist or one of our large Raspberry Meringues in-store. (Thank me later)

Linzer Slice...Yum!

Jam lovers listen up! Linzer slice is the PERFECT broken biscuit saviour! Instead of creating a boring, bland and basic base to your next Linzer Slice, put your broken biscuits together and make the base of your dreams!! Bizzarri Dolci's Orange & Almond Biscotti adds a hint of extra flavour to your slice.

Earlier this week Bizzarri Dolci Handmade Biscuits celebrated its 13th year of business..YAY!

The philosophy has been simple - create handmade biscuits and other baked delights with natural fresh ingredients.. so they taste like they should (and that's exactly what we've done!)

Here's a snippet of how Bizzarri Dolci came to be what it is today..

Monette Bizzarri trained as a chef in Melbourne, beginning her apprenticeship when she was 16 years old. She always had a particular love for pastry work and when she studied under the French master Michel Roux, she realised her dream of one day doing what she loved in a business of her own.

So when did it all begin? The Bizzarri name was first put on the Melbourne food map 28 years ago, when the family opened their first restaurant Cafe Bizzarri, located in Toorak Village. Since then, the Bizzarri family have dished out countless, lovingly made meals to foodies all around Melbourne. Following Cafe Bizzarri came Bizzarri Restaurant Two - located in the Como Centre in South Yarra.

After many successful years in the industry, Monette (being the family member who was always very dessert oriented) decided to act on her dream and share her passion for baking by creating ‘real’ biscuits - and the only way she could see this happening was to make them by hand...

The small kitchen in Malvern East initially started off with all of 1 employee. Monette. She worked day and night, baking, chocolate dipping and packaging biscuits in order to produce the best quality biscuits for her loyal customer base. Not too long after this, Monette slowly employed a team of professionals who shared the same passion as her. Before she knew it, the kitchen was constantly buzzing. New biscuit lines were being created and hundreds of biscuits were being baked and delivered to customers every week. Before long, the Bizzarri team decided it was time to open the doors of the Bizzarri Dolci kitchen to the public.

....13 years on and Bizzarri Dolci is situated at 1395 Malvern Road, Malvern. We have a busy bakery and retail store constantly filled with biscuits.. old favourites and a large range of new ones. Wholesaling to a variety of delis and food stores around Australia, Bizzarri Dolci still makes each and every biscuit by hand one by one. Each biscuit is hand-made, hand-dipped, hand-packaged and handed over to you - our loyal customers of 13 amazing years. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this constantly evolving business, and we can't wait to share with you all the new products we have in store for this year!

The Bizzarri Dolci kitchen this week is filled with a whole lotta looooveee! With Valentine's Day fast approaching, our pastry chefs have been busy experimenting and creating lots of new and exciting treats! A few of our favourites are back including our Rose Water Marshmallow and the Linzer biscuits, that fit in perfectly with our new products. Be sure to visit us in-store to pick up the perfect Valentine's Day gifts.

While the rest of Bizzarri Dolci was extremely busy relaxing on their holidays, our Head Pastry Chef Jia travelled to Sydney to complete a 4-day course with World Renowned Buttercream Flower Artist Nana.

Nana is well-known for her clean, modern yet sophisticated buttercream flowers and owns four branches of NanaCake bakeries in Korea.

Jia completed the Master class and undertook four days of intense classes learning how to create incredible, realistic flowers made entirely with buttercream. Take a look at some of Jia's creations below!

"It was such an amazing opportunity to learn from Nana how to work with Buttercream to create such amazing designs... I need to make sure I keep practicing them so I don't forget! I can't wait to start implementing what I have learnt from the course into some ideas for Bizzarri Dolci"

After plenty of Christmas fruitcake, Gingerbread houses and of course biscuits, Bizzarri Dolci is back and ready for 2017!

This year is definitely the year of the biscuit. With a plethora of special events in the near future our pastry chefs have been busy experimenting and creating new products, and we have a LOT of surprises in store.

The 23rd of July was a treat-filled evening at The Pantry, Brighton.

Adriano Zumbo graced the Church Street establishment with his presence to participate in the Miele Masterclass Series. Some of Zumbo's most loved dishes and desserts were served up to a much appreciative sugar-loving audience. Monette Bizzarri was lucky to catch a happy snap with the master of desserts at the end of the evening. "A sweet man, I left feeling very inspired and ready to bake!" Welcome to the Bizzarri Dolci blog. We are excited to be composing our very first post.

The team at Bizzarri Dolci have decided to created this blog as a means of keeping you biscuit lovers up-to-date with news from the bakery. In addition, we will be sharing anything and everything interesting that we come across and we think you may enjoy. You can expect to find posts about food, interesting articles we've stumbled upon, perhaps a great image...or simply a story from our kitchen! Please enjoy our newly established blog and please feel free to interact with us or ask questions.

As we are creating our first post, we may as well hit the ground running and share the latest news with you from the recent months!

In June, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary! We were very proud of this milestone and cannot believe how the years have flown. You can see an image and read about our 10 year anniversary HERE. We have also had another project cooking up over the last few months. We recently announced that we will be re-locating our bakery to a new premises!

Our new bakery is located at 1395 Malvern Road, Malvern (only a 5 minute drive from our current shop)

The new bakery boasts a larger kitchen and retail space, so you can expect some new goodies to be coming out of the kitchen!

There is still some work to do at our new shop before we move, so please follow this blog or subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop and be among the first to be notified of our move.
